DTN COMMENTS: The country is slow to start this morning following yesterday
moderate business. While it looks like the bulk of trading is done for the
week, a little cleanup here and there is very possible today. Asking prices
for cattle left on showlists are around $143 plus in the South, and $222
plus in the North. Beef cutouts are expected to be higher with light to
moderate box movement.
So far this week Northern dressed deals have been marked at $218 to $221,
mostly $220, $3 higher than last week's weighted average basis Nebraska.
Southern live trade has been at $140 to $142, mainly $142, $3 higher than
last week's weighted averages.
